My name is Amy Weaver and I have been teaching at RHCS for 12
years.  I graduated from Geneva College in Beaver Falls, PA.  With a
BS in Elementary Education.  I am also trained and certified as a
mentor teacher.

I began my career in a multi-grade classroom at a Christian school in
Jefferson, OH.  I taught kindergarten through the sixth grade at some
point during those years.  Since coming to RHCS I have taught
various grades.  For the last five years I have taught fourth grade.

I am actively involved at my Church.  I am a youth group coach and
serve as a deacon.  For the past few years I have gone to Bolivia,
South America to serve along side the missionaries that we support.

Other activities I enjoy are exercising, reading, concerts and attending
sporting events.

Fourth grade is a transitional year.  Fourth graders are learning to be
more responsible and self directed.  The emphasis changes from
learning to read to reading to learn.  Subjects have more content and
are more detailed.  Fourth grade is the first time students can be
selected for the National Elementary Honor Society.  Some special
activities are a visit to the Chagrin Nature Center, Playhouse Square,
the Little Red School House and a community service project.

Accelerated Reader:  Students may select any book in their reading
level and topic given that has a test.  Books without a test can not be
counted.  To check for a test you may go to www.arbookfind.com.
