My name is Mrs. Andrea Akins and I am the Kindergarten teacher at
Richmond Heights Christian School. I am so excited to be back
teaching again full-time at RHCS.
I received my Associate of arts Degree from Lakeland Community
College. I then transferred to Kent State University where I received
my Bachelors of Science in Education. I graduate Cum Laude and
received my certification in elementary education. After graduating
from college I substitute taught for one year in several different
schools. It was a great experience. Then God opened the door for
me at RHCS where I taught for five years. I absolutely loved it! I then
took some time to raise my children. I have two daughters ages 10
and 7. They are my special gifts from God.
During this time I continued to work in the field of education. I
substitute taught, and I also worked at RHCS as their Tutor. I loved
working with small groups of children and helping them in their areas
of difficulty. It was so rewarding to see their growth and progress
during the course of the school year. I also worked at Willo-Hill
Christian School as an Educational Aide in the Four-year old
Kindergarten class. It was a wonderful experience.
My husband, children, and I have been members of Christian
Assembly for many years. I started attending as a teenager! My
father is also a pastor on staff.
I have a heart for teaching and I love children. I enjoy finding fun and
creative ways to teach. Christian school teaching is the most
rewarding of all because we are able to give our children a Biblical
worldview and train them up in the ways of the Lord. Amen!
